Curriculum
Education is changing rapidly and the covid era saw major shift away from the idea that face-to-face teaching was the only real way to educate school-age children. Today, many students are learning using a blend of face-to-face and on-line learning.
Riverina Christian College will be adopting this approach as we prepare students for life and work in the future world. Starting from Year 7, students will undertake study in one or more subjects using a partnership the College will have with Pacific On-Line Christian School. They will join on-line classes twice or more a week with the rest of the work being done themselves with support from Riverina Christian College (RCC) staff as well as their on-line teachers. The rest of their program will be delivered on-site by RCC teachers.
Depending on the expressions of interest we receive, we plan to commence with Year 7 and grow through to Year 12. Should demand be sufficient to warrant opening other years, we will be ready to respond to that. For example, we may commence with Year 7 and 8 and if the demand was there with a Y11 class as well. T
he full range of Year 7 – 10 subjects will be offered as will the HSC subjects when that level commences. We have scope on site to offer Agriculture and to utilise local resources to equip students for rural work. Vocational education programs and courses will also be available especially to those in the senior years of school.
